Architectural photography is the oldest photographic discipline. In fact, the first permanent photograph, Nicéphore Niépce’s ‘View from the Window at Le Gras’ from 1827, was an architectural photograph and shows parts of the buildings and surrounding countryside of his estate. Technically it is a heliograph but essentially a photograph as we know it today.
